Article: Happiness and self-confidence
Are you going to be happier after plastic surgery?
Angelika Taschen asked a few prominent plastic surgeons this question in her book ‘Aesthetic Surgery’. None of the surgeons think that you will become a happier person after aesthetic surgery. I find that rather pessimistic because I have experienced that some people in my practice really do become happier after surgery.
A woman with a rather angry-looking appearance, by whom I did a forehead lift, told me that after the intervention the people around her had become a lot nicer to her and that all kinds of nice things started to happen to her, probably due to her less worrisome and more pleasant irradiation.
A man with a somewhat insecure appearance, by whom I carried out an ear correction (his pictures can be found in the photo gallery) changed into a fast guy with a cool appearance thanks to a different hairstyle and a more self-assured look in his eyes.
And then the girl with a congenital deviation of her breasts. According to her mother she had one boyfriend after the other following surgery. What can be more delightful to parents then to see their child living a free and uncomplicated life?
Call it happiness or self-confidence, I have seen it grow and have been able to photograph it.
